Hi, I’m Mackenzie (she/her). I’m a Registered Social Worker who supports queer folks and survivors of sexual violence, intimate partner violence, and child sexual abuse.
I hold a Master of Social Work with a specialization in social justice and diversity from the University of Toronto. During my practicum, I provided trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy to survivors of child sexual abuse. After graduating, I began supporting survivors of gender-based and sexual violence in a university setting. I feel honoured to walk alongside my clients as they work through their most difficult struggles and learn to trust their instincts, emotions, and bodies.
When I’m not counselling, I’m teaching courses on gender and sexuality at King’s University College. My favourites are "Governing Girlhood" and "Queer Identity and Belonging." I value teaching as an important part of my feminist and queer advocacy work.
